“A large rose tree stood near the entrance to the garden. The flowers on it were white, but there were three gardeners busy painting them red. Alice found this very strange…”
Lewis Caroll, ” Alice in Wonderland”,(1869)
The Eva Vautier gallery invites us to discover an extraordinary garden. Invited by the curators (Natacha Lesueur, Eva Vautier and Agnès Vitani), this summer twenty artists offer us flowers, revisiting a theme that is, to say the least, classical, using extremely diverse processes.
Lush or fragile flowers, decorative or essential, avalanche of petals, smothering mimosa … Whether they are realistic or distorted, their flowers say everything that flowers can say.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”70px”][vc_column_text]In 2022, the City of Nice is planning its fifth Biennial Art Exhibition on the theme of flowers. After Un Eté pour Matisse (2013), Promenade(S) des Anglais (2015), Ecole(S) de Nice (2017), and L’Odyssée du Cinéma (2019), this fifth edition – originally planned for 2021 and postponed to 2022 due to the health crisis – will celebrate the deeply rooted, almost mythological link between the city of Nice, the green city of the Mediterranean, and flowers.
The Biennale des Arts is a cultural event that has been promoted by Christian Estrosi, Mayor of Nice, and coordinated by Jean-Jacques Aillagon since 2013. This year again, it will illustrate the exceptional cultural and artistic vitality of Nice, which aspires to become the European Capital of Culture in 2028.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”70px”][qbutton icon_pack=”” target=”_self” font_weight=”” text=”Dossier de presse” link=”https://eva-vautier.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/2-DOSSIER-DE-PRESSE_Exposition_Galerie-Eva-Vautier_a-rose-is-a-petunia-is-a-mimosa.pdf”][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][qbutton icon_pack=”” target=”_self” font_weight=”” text=”Revue de presse” link=”https://eva-vautier.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/REVUE-DE-PRESSE-A-rose-is-a-petunia-is-a-mimosa.pdf”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][/vc_column][/vc_row]
